Welcome to The Heart Health Dietitian!

If you’re looking for easy-to-understand, evidenced-based nutrition information to help you manage life with heart disease, you’re in the right place.

It seems as if nutrition information is constantly changing based on what the latest news headlines have to say. So how do you know what to believe, especially if you have a new heart disease diagnosis to deal with? You’re looking to make some changes in your diet, but you’re not sure what to eat since you’ve seen so many “best diet plans” or “worst foods to eat” for people with heart disease.

This is where a registered dietitian nutritionist (RDN) with experience in heart health nutrition can help.

Hello! I’m Devon, a registered dietitian nutritionist with a background in both hospital-based and outpatient nutrition. For over 8 years I’ve had the privilege of helping people who’ve had medical concerns like open heart surgery, heart attacks, heart failure, and high blood pressure learn how to make nutrition choices that can benefit their hearts and improve their health. If you’re here today with cardiovascular concerns, my hope is that this website will be helpful to you in your journey to a healthier heart!

Mission, Bio, & Editorial Process

This site is here to help people with heart disease finally find answers to common (and uncommon) questions about heart health nutrition, without relying on any fads or trends.

But with so much health and nutrition information available on the Internet today, why should you trust this web site?

Here’s why: the content on this web site was created by Devon, a registered dietitian nutritionist who holds a Master of Science degree in Dietetics and completed 1200 hours of supervised practice experience through an accredited coordinated program in dietetics.

Registered dietitian nutritionists (RDNs) must pass the national registration examination for dietitians and maintain their credential through completion of 75 hours of continuing education every 5 years.

Content on this web site has been created using evidenced-based information from peer-reviewed journals, reputable web sites (such as academic institutions, government organizations, and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics), and Devon’s 8+ years of clinical nutrition experience.

Content on this web site is reviewed annually and updated as needed based upon any new developments in research and science.
